From first message to the job
We start by reviewing the edit, script, storyboard, or existing footage to understand the creative goals and technical needs. The team checks formats, timing, reference material, and any production constraints so the scope is clear before work begins.
Next, we map out each shot that needs visual effects, animation, or compositing and agree on the look and level of detail. This stage helps align the studio, agency, and production team on style, deadlines, and practical delivery requirements.
Our artists build the required shots using matchmove, cleanup, CGI integration, animation, and compositing as needed. We share progress for review, apply feedback carefully, and keep the work consistent with the approved direction.
Once the shots are approved, we prepare the final files in the required formats for broadcast, online, or post-production handoff. We also organise version updates and delivery notes so the finished package is easy to use across the wider production workflow.

Short updates

Great visual effects should support the story, not distract from it. In this post, we explore how Northlight VFX approaches CGI integration, from early planning and asset creation to compositing and final delivery, with a focus on realism and creative collaboration.

Previsualization helps teams make creative decisions earlier and avoid costly revisions later in the pipeline. Here, we look at how Northlight VFX uses previs to align directors, producers, and artists before full production begins, helping projects stay focused and visually consistent.

Even the most detailed effects can feel unfinished without careful color work, lighting integration, and compositing. This article breaks down how Northlight VFX refines each shot to match the surrounding footage and create a polished final image that feels natural on screen.

Common questions
Northlight VFX typically covers core visual effects work such as compositing, CG integration, animation support, and shot cleanup. The team can also help shape the production workflow where VFX needs to fit smoothly into live-action or fully digital material.
A typical scope includes an initial review of the brief, planning the shot requirements, producing the VFX work, and delivering approved versions in the required format. Depending on the project, this may also include feedback rounds, colour matching, and final compositing so the finished shots sit naturally within the production.
Pricing is typically based on the scope of the work, the level of complexity, and the amount of finishing required. A shot that needs clean compositing and simple animation will usually cost less than one that involves detailed tracking, simulation, or multiple revisions.
The most useful information is a clear brief, the number of shots or assets, reference material, and any delivery deadlines. If you can share source footage, notes on required compositing or animation, and the intended use of the final output, the quote can be much more grounded and realistic.
You can contact Northlight VFX by email or through the studio's enquiry form, and it's helpful to share a short overview of your project. Include the type of visual effects, animation, or compositing support you need, your timeline, and any reference material so the team can respond in a focused way. A clear first message usually makes the next steps easier to plan.
